Five actresses, five tables and viewers invited to sit around them. Based on these islets of shared words, Marie Lelardoux develops a polyphonic, sensitive and unusual object. The outline of the show is made up of interviews that the stage director had with foreigners learning French. In the theatre of echo, the actresses do not perform. They pass on words, but also silences, hesitations and intonations, they endeavour to render the reality of conversations as best as they can. Therefore we are not in front of characters, but personified voices which, once combined, offer a double portrait: that of language, but also that of the community that uses it and receives it.
