It is a loud enraged and silent shout on a wall, a formal radical stance pushed all the way to the edge. A way of stinging nerves which, with an incessant flow of words in capital letters, denounces the fears and contradictory anxieties of our society related to demographic pressure, housing crisis, and landscape protection. On an unstable and reactive ground, the performers try to create a gap, their own space, their own land-based Raft of the Medusa; they say and endure the words without illustrating them. With The Poetics of Space, by Gaston Bachelard as theoretical background, we question the lack of space as a reason for selfish narrow-mindedness and the visceral need for refuge. Through this artistic and political implacably radical gesture, Adina Secretan attempts to set in motion the problems related to our longing for shell, questioning what could be the meaning of “living happily”.
